Bringing mid-century modern design to life with LEGOs
One World Architecture recently attended Dwell on Design in Los Angeles, one of the biggest annual expos on modern design and architecture. We checked out the cutting-edge of green design and technology.
The expo marked the culmination of Dwell’s LEGO Modern Home Design Competition, which challenged participants to create a LEGO model of a house inspired by iconic California mid-century modern architecture. As enthusiasts of both Modernism and LEGOs, the team at OWA could not resist submitting our own model. Inspired by the classic Southern California work of Richard Neutra and Joseph Eichler, our entry was selected as one of five finalists to be judged at Dwell on Design!
Our LEGO modern house, entitled “Villa Hillcrest,” attracted a lot of attention while on exhibit at the conference, and was featured on several design blogs. Click on the links below to hear what others were saying about Villa Hillcrest:
